PROPERTIES OF AGGREGATES FOR CONCRETE - Civil
Properties of Aggregates aggregate affects on the strength and durability of the concrete. Aggregate is a broad encompassing boulder, cobbles, crushed stone, gravel, air-cooled, blast furnace slag, native and manufactured sands, and manufactured and natural lightweight aggregates.
Factors affecting durability of concrete • Aggregate
Concrete is said to be in a plastic state before it begins to set. The aggregate is dispersed by the cement paste and the particles in the paste are dispersed in the water. After placing, there is a period of settlement when the particles come closer together; most of this settlement usually occurs within an hour or so of placement.
Aggregate Effects On Properties Of Concrete » CivilScoop
Aggregate crushing value gives a relative measure of the resistance of an aggregate to crushing under a gradually applied compressive load. The aggregate crushing value should not exceed 45% for aggregate used for concrete other than for wearing surfaces, and 30 % for concrete for wearing surfaces, such as runways, roads for pavements.

WHAT ARE THE PROPERTIES OF AGGREGATES FOR CONCRETE
How are aggregates used in concrete?
In most concrete, aggregates are more or less chemically inert. However, some aggregates react with the alkali hydroxides in concrete, causing expansion and cracking over a period of many years. This alkali-aggregate reaction has two forms: alkali-silica reaction (ASR) and alkali-carbonate reaction (ACR).
Concrete and Aggregate Testing | SGS
Concrete and aggregate used in your construction projects has to meet strict regulations and quality standards. As these standards are often compulsory, concrete and aggregate testing by an independent third-party is necessary to help assure compliance.

Making an Exposed Aggregate Concrete Path: I love working with concrete because it's tough and versatile and relatively cost effective. In this instructable I'll be jazzing up a new footpath by exposing the aggregate. There are a few ways to do this, and many commercial operators use a high pr…
Solutions and Products - Cement, concrete, aggregates
Aggregates are used in many applications, including ready-mixed and precast concrete, asphalt, and as a base material for street and road construction. Aggregates are fragments of rock measuring 0.08 to 80 millimeters in diameter.
